De Popronde is voor talentvolle opkomende Nederlandse bands en artiesten dé kans om intensieve speel- en tourervaring op te doen, een nieuw publiek te bereiken en het netwerk buiten de eigen regio uit te breiden. In elke stad spelen op één avond tientallen bands en acts op zo’n twintig locaties, variërend van bruin café tot poppodium.

Wie wordt de nieuwe Voicst, Lucky Fonz III of Go Back To The Zoo?

De Popronde is een gratis toegankelijk landelijk reizend festival dat komend jaar plaatsvindt in 25 steden. De Popronde geeft bands de mogelijkheid te spelen buiten de eigen regio en zich te presenteren voor nieuw publiek, pers en programmeurs. De optredens vinden plaats in cafés, theaters en poppodia in het centrum van elke stad. In de jaren hiervoor deden onder meer Voicst, Lucky Fonz III en Go Back To The Zoo mee aan de Popronde.

Zoals elk jaar zijn er veel Amsterdamse acts die mee doen met de Popronde, zoals Mooie Noten winnaar Lake Montgomery, Case Mayfield, The Cohens en Electric Alleycat. Maar ook een hoop onbekendere namen. De Amsterdamse popronde is op 16 september. Het programma is nog onbekend.

Uit de ruim 700 inzendingen zijn door de selectiecommissie 100 veelbelovende artiesten geselecteerd voor Popronde 2010. De volgende bands zijn geselecteerd:
