We very luckily play on Friday 13th at 23:00, at De Walrus.
Wat voor muziek maken jullie?
We make a mash-up of guitar driven dream-pop type stuff with bits of noise and triphop bass heavy type of thing delivered through the back orifice of semi-desperate human beings. There are beats.
Hoe is KIN ontstaan en hoe lang bestaan jullie al?
Front singing, guitaring human being, Kim R. Foster shifted from Manchester (UK) to Groningen in 2011 and put the band together to support her solo project. Since then, the band became less solo and much more band and has made stuff together ever since.
Voor wie zouden jullie graag nog een keer het voorprogramma willen verzorgen?
Ummm… probably a cover band blending the likes of Deerhoof, Radiohead, Sonic Youth and a couple of spoofs of Bjork and Slayer during the encore. If they got an encore.
Wat heeft 2016 jullie gebracht?
2016 brought many opportunities to be fully realised in 2017. So it goes. It also brought our favourite show ever, when we had the pleasure of closing the local stage at Groningen Bevrijdingsfestival. I think we buzzed for a good few months after that. Then, it brought us a fresh new EP called Dumb Shock Cinematic which was released in October of the same year.
Wat zijn de plannen voor 2017?
We start the year playing as part of the 24 hour long Van Onderen Festival in Paradiso on January 7th along 100 other Dutch underground bands. Since there’s a lot of year left after that, we’ll probably finish off that new album, get it out and play some shows.
Waarom moet iedereen naar jullie optreden komen?
Because we will shiver their beer-filled bellies; pull the tears from their eyes like they’re teeth; shake their knees from their skeletons and buzz up their brains. Something like that might happen.
Wat hopen jullie dat Grunnsonic jullie zal brengen?
Some great music. Some fun. Some beers. Some stupids. It’s becoming a tradition.
Waar in Groningen zouden jullie graag (nog) een keer willen optreden en waarom?
We haven’t played at De Oosterpoort yet. Maybe that one.
Welke andere lokale act die ook op Grunnsonic staat, vinden jullie tof en waarom?
Pretty sure we said it last year, but we find ourselves saying it again: Santa Fe and deffo Fake O’s. If we’re allowed two. Are we allowed two?
